No December 2011 Board Meeting

Due to scheduling conflicts during the holiday season, there will be no board meeting in December.  The next meeting will be held on January 11, 2012.

Annual Meeting - Monday, November 14th 2011 @ Parker Elementary (7 pm)

The Westbury Gardens annual meeting will be held on Monday, November 14th 2011 at Parker Elementary at 7:00 p.m.  The current state of the property along with the election of board members will be on the agenda for the meeting.

October Board Meeting Date Change - Wed. Oct. 26, 2011

Due to scheduling conflicts the monthly board meeting has been moved to Wednesday October 26, 2011 @ 7pm.  It will be held on the property at 5233 Arboles.

Board Meeting - Wednesday, September 14, 2011 @ 7pm

The regular board meeting  will be held on Wednesday, September14th at 7pm. The meeting will be held on the property at 5233 Arboles.

New Board Member

Kim Houston has agreed to take over the board position Ron Mattox is vacating.   Kim and other candidates went through a process of interviewing with the board to serve out Ron's term until the November 2012 elections.  Welcome aboard, Kim!

Opening for a New Board Member

Due to work commitments, Ron Mattox will be stepping down from the board this month.  The current board is requesting that any interested residents submit themselves for consideration to westburygardens@gmail.com .  In September, the board will interview these candidates and select a replacement who will serve out the remainder of Ron's term - until November of 2012.

Board Meeting - Wednesday, August 10, 2011 @ 7pm

The regular board meeting  will be held on Wednesday, August 10th at 7pm. The meeting will be held on the property at 5233 Arboles. 

Board Meeting - Monday, June 6, 2011 @ 7pm

The regular board meeting has been moved up and will be held on Monday, June 6th at 7pm.  The meeting will be held on the property at 5233 Arboles.  Seating is limited, please bring a chair if you can.

Regular business will be discussed. There are no plans to raise maintenance fees at this time.

Board Meeting - May 11, 2011 @ 7pm

The Board will be meeting on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 for the monthly meeting.  The meeting will take place at 7pm at the Creative office. Residents are invited to attend.

Westbury Gardens' Trees

We all recognize our beautiful trees as one of our greatest assets.  

With this in mind, the board engaged a professional tree service to determine the trees that were dead, diseased, or causing damage to the foundations.  Only unhealthy or foundation-damaging trees are involved.  

Our lovely promenade along Arboles will not be affected.  You can view a chart of the trees in common areas that are in question by clicking here.  As you can see, there are only several trees involved.  The red dots indicate trees that are too close to buildings and are affecting foundations.  The blue dots indicate trees that are diseased or dead.  

While the removal of trees affecting foundations may cause some initial settling, this is short-lived and then the problem affecting foundations will be resolved.

Board Meeting - April 13, 2011 @ 7pm

The Board will be meeting on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 for the monthly meeting.  The meeting will take place at 7pm at the Creative office. Residents are invited to attend.

New Property Manager

Westbury Gardens would like to welcome aboard our new property manager, Tim Burch.  The board has toured the property with Tim and discussed plans and priorities for upcoming improvements to Westbury Gardens.  

Tim has been responsible for many of the improvements to Westbury Square Condominiums across from us on Chimney Rock.  He plans to have a regular on-site presence and would like everyone know that he will promptly return phone calls and emails.

We would like to thank AJ Simpson for his many years of service to the Westbury Gardens community and wish him good fortune in his future endeavors.

New Beatification Projects

There are currently several beatification projects under way:

Refurbishment work continues on the interior hallways, with new carpet for the stairs, new paint, and new tile for the entryways.

A plan for the cyclical power washing of all facades has begun with the cleaning of the 11639-11649 Chimney Rock building.  This will continue throughout the property as weather permits.

The renovation of the beautiful wrought iron ornamentation on the 5216 building behind the pool will begin shortly, returning it to its New Orleans-inspired character.

A project to repaint the stairways of the 5238 building in the Spanish Courtyard is planned in the near future.

New Board Member & Email Change

Jason Walkoviak has agreed to take over the board position Jim Johnson is vacating as of January 12, 2011.  Jason and other candidates went through a process of interviewing with the board to serve until the November elections, at which time the position will be available for anyone interested in running for the board.  Jason will also take over this blog/website from now on.  Welcome aboard, Jason!

In addition, current board member Tim Delaney will now take over the westburygardens@gmail.com email address that Jim Johnson has maintained for the last couple of years.  Tim will review any emails sent to the board and will submit them through the proper channels.
